(re)DC is a new creative project series by ReadysetDC. We are looking at things that we see all the time in DC, and making a call to improve them. A simple concept to raise the bar.

We are starting simple, with DC’s “tourist t-shirt”. We’ve pulled together some talented artists and designers to rethink what this shirt could be. Below are the designs they’ve put their time and sweat into. YOU vote. Look through all of the entries and make your decision at the bottom. The winning design will be “gifted” to the public, under Creative Commons (Attribution, No Derivatives). Until their is a winner, artists maintain all rights to their works.

dclove natako-DCLove-2 natako-DCLove-4 ]]> http://natako.com/2010/08/redc-tee-design/feed/ 4 BrandonBloch.com http://natako.com/2010/07/brandonbloch-com/ http://natako.com/2010/07/brandonbloch-com/#comments Tue, 27 Jul 2010 02:31:54 +0000 natako http://natako.com/?p=589 brandon who, you ask? well if you don’t know him you will. brandon’s a film maker, photographer, and dcist to the core. and he’s one of the few people i’ve met recently who’s as fired up as i am. the concept for his site was simple: couture. i’ve since over-used the word, but the thought is to kill any semblance of the web 2.0 aesthetic. no 1 pixel off-sets, ridiculous gradients or drop shadows here. we wanted to skew on the side of art vs. design. so don’t look for the grid-system layover here. just did what we wanted, period. too often we slave ourselves to concepts like user-experience and usability- which have their place, no doubt- just not part of the process here.
