brandon who, you ask? well if you don’t know him you will. brandon’s a film maker, photographer, and dcist to the core. and he’s one of the few people i’ve met recently who’s as fired up as i am. the concept for his site was simple: couture. i’ve since over-used the word, but the thought is to kill any semblance of the web 2.0 aesthetic. no 1 pixel off-sets, ridiculous gradients or drop shadows here. we wanted to skew on the side of art vs. design. so don’t look for the grid-system layover here. just did what we wanted, period. too often we slave ourselves to concepts like user-experience and usability- which have their place, no doubt- just not part of the process here.

ad2 is a national organization fostering young professionals in advertising. ad2dc is the district’s chapter. i joined last september as the interactive chair, mostly because my agency recently closed its doors and i needed to expand my network for freelance opportunities. since then i’ve partaken of the kool aid, and am excited to be part of the leadership of this organization.

since i’ve been working with LM&O Advertising ( September of last year ), the website has been top of my “to do” list. to effect the delivery of the site asap i wanted to keep the team tight knit and focused. and it worked. the site was in alpha for a matter of weeks as opposed to months. LMO’s previous site had been around for some time and no longer reflected the relevance they truly exude as an agency. under the direction of chris laughlin as well as karen the interactive director and sherri, director of business development, natako was given carte blanche to design and build a proper web-presence. the site utilizes a number of technologies to tell LMO’s story. it’s now officially in public beta.

props to the entire LMO management team ( especially mike caplanis and dave marinaccio ) for allowing me the freedom to do my thing.
