since i’ve been working with LM&O Advertising ( September of last year ), the website has been top of my “to do” list. to effect the delivery of the site asap i wanted to keep the team tight knit and focused. and it worked. the site was in alpha for a matter of weeks as opposed to months. LMO’s previous site had been around for some time and no longer reflected the relevance they truly exude as an agency. under the direction of chris laughlin as well as karen the interactive director and sherri, director of business development, natako was given carte blanche to design and build a proper web-presence. the site utilizes a number of technologies to tell LMO’s story. it’s now officially in public beta.

props to the entire LMO management team ( especially mike caplanis and dave marinaccio ) for allowing me the freedom to do my thing.

email and text messages just ain’t much of a project management strategy. it’s time to grow up. so, i’ve been seeking a prm platform that would allow clients to be able to request new projects, create tasks with due dates, see my schedule, and have a record of all of the above when i say i never got “that email”. i did get that email. it was just buried and i was to lazy to look for it, so i made you resend it.

i’ve used basecamp before but found the ui a bit inconsistent and overwhelming for my needs. also tested out action method, but this is really for internal project management. really wanted to make it work but i doesn’t allow collaborators to add projects or tasks unless they are also using the app. not realistic for most clients. enter GoPlan 2.0. this has all the features i was looking for and none of the ones i don’t. projects, tasks, sub-tasks, due dates, schedules, discussions (for new requests), time-tracking (including a nifty mac osx widget). the ui could use some repetition as it took me 15 mins to figure out where in the app to upgrade from the free account-its in the “edit my company tab. but this is just a great app, perfect for natako.

finally made some time for some old-fashioned drawing…that i then completely bastardize on my computer. this one is me. thinking i’ll make a series of these. so hopefully more to come. this started as a pencil in my moleskine, and eventually ended up in illustrator and photoshop. spent a few hours on this-unless you count the other hours i spent deciding i didnt hate it.

PomBox / Logo Design

logo design for a training product used at the gas company in france. didn’t have much to go on. just a drawing someone did in crayon of a guy picking apples off a tree, putting them in a basket. so, that’s what i tried to convey in the design. below you’ll also find a reinterpretation of the illustration i mentioned. not sure what it will be used for. hope its not gonna be the logo. i fear i may never know.

Ghetto blaster

in a world of third party ipod devices, lasonic has set itself apart with this entry. a retro ghetto blaster with ipod dock. this thing is great. everything i dreamed it could be, plus a microphone input with echo control. so many possibiliites. don’t know where to begin. lost the ability to form complete thoughts, except for that.

in the spirit of being selfish, i won’t provide a link. i’m hoping you will be as lazy as statistics say you should be, and won’t go looking for it. don’t disapoint me.

voila! i heart moo.com. they offer a great service. simple, easy, inexpensive branding solutions. i ordered the minicards but they also offer standard sized cards as well. you can have several designs divided equally in your order. very cool.

I Dropped IE6!

if you look at my source code you may notice a conditional css link for ie6. this is just a remnant of the theme i built the site on and in no way means i’m doing work arounds for ie, ever. i really hate css hacks, they just feel unholy, like i’m violating my website somehow. just talking about them makes me want to take a shower. so, i dropped ie6 because it sucks… and the pink elephant told me to.
